The history of music can never be completed without an honorable mention of Aereogramme. The band has rocked the 1990?s and 2000?s with its irresistible charm and magical aura despite being remained active for just seven years.

Aereogramme is a famous Scottish band from Glasgow that witnessed great success and made headlines in a short period of time. The band has an alternative/post-rock touch.

It was formed in April 1998 and disbanded within a span of seven years. However, they saw both commercial and critical acclaim and earned for themselves a lot of respect and fame in the music world.

The Aereogramme hit it in a big way in 1999 when the band released two 7 singles. Their melodies became an instant hit and the band topped the charts with their enchanting music. Their first full-length album was ?A Story in White? that was released in 2001. ?Sleep? and ?Release? followed in 2003 and both became super-hits.

The band then moved to Undergroove Records soon after for their third official release and then re-signed to Chemikal Underground in August 2006.

Their fourth album was released on a bigger level and was a better hit then previous ones. The album was released in United States on 29 January 2007 and in Japan on the 14 October 2006 and was titled ?My Heart Has a Wish That You Would Not Go?.

The title was taken from the novel ?The Exorcist?. During this period, Craig B was suffering from a severe throat problem but he wrote the beginnings of this album which was a sudden shift from Aereogramme?s trademark style.

The Aereogramme entertained their fans for years and gave one hit after the other. However, the band disbanded very soon leaving their fans disappointed. The band members got separate ways when its lead singer Craig B had suffered a voice problem.

He blamed his habit of drinking whiskey and smoking and years of screaming (singing) every single night for this problem. Besides this, there were some financial reasons as well that the band never discussed publicly.

The Aereogramme disbanded in 2007 and officially announced this on 11 May, 2007. On 11 May 2007, in a message board post, Aereogramme conveyed their goodbye message by stating that the reasons for this were multiple and complex.

Their never ending financial struggle coupled with an almost superhuman ability to dodge the zeitgeist have taken their toll, but whatever they did by then was good enough to make the music lovers listen and take notice to.

Before splitting up, the band made a splendid performance on the last show at the Connect Festival in Inverary, Scotland on 31 August, 2007. The concert saw thousands of Aereogramme fans screaming and yelling for more.

The more didn?t come unfortunately as the band has now ended with a promise to be back soon. It is however fair to say that their small work has raised the standard of music to great extent.

Now their fans and other music lovers have to wait till they come up with another album or tour. Just wait and watch as the music never stops!
