The weather in Wien is pleasant all year long. In summers, average temperature cans 70 ? F in the hottest month of July. Winters extend from October to May with lots of snow. January alone can receive up to 11 inches of snow annually. The town might be a small one but since it is located in the heart of Marathon County, it is easily accessible.
The town of Wien was established as a separate town on 12th November 1867. The town is named after Austria's capital city, Vienna, the alternative or German name of which is Wien. The first ever settler in the town was an Australian ladies' tailor. Thus the town was named after his hometown in Austria. Many other residents of Pittsburgh also fled to this town and settled here and that is how the town slowly developed. Now, the town has a creamery and 2 cheese factories which are the biggest source of income for the locals. Both the factories do a large business every year.
Now the town presents an impressive site with a multitude of massive architectures like the St John Church. The church was founded in 1869, during the time of the civil war. Today, the church towers over the city as a major beacon of light for the locals as well as a tourist destination for its amazing architecture. There have been several changes made in the Church after 1908 like the new parish hall which was built in the 1910. It is a valuable addition to the massive, high steeple structure. The ministry was enlarged in 1940 and so now there are relatively newer offices, classrooms and offices.
Other than that, the area has a warm night life and lots of recreational parks with a vibrant flora and fauna. It is the heaven for some of the most endangered species which live in an unpopulated environment which makes for a great bird viewing.
