The climate of the city is fantabulous for all the lovers of snow because like all other good things, that is something which Wichita does not lack! Wichita was an important trade route some 11,000 year ago as well. It was used by nomadic people as well as the Native American tribes. When Francisco Vasquez de Coronado was looking for 'cities of gold', he came across the Native American tribal people in 1541 that he referred to as Quiviras. Studies later revealed that they were the Wichita tribes and not Quiviras. These were the people who had moved to Oklahoma by early 1700s but they were the people whose houses are credited to be the very first permanent settlement of Wichita area history. The city was incorporated in 1870; it was the time when the area was nicknamed 'Cow town' due to its location on Chrisolm route, during which time the town had attracted many number of immigrants. And that is how the small town of Wichita became the magnificent city it is today. One of the biggest favors of nature is that it has bestowed upon us, multiple routes leading to this heaven of a city.
