But the city has recovered from this trauma and has made a head start at life. In George W Bush's election campaign, Waco had a White House Press Center. Today, Waco is one of the favorite most tourist destinations of Texas with many a historic sites.
The Waco Bridge is now considered a historic site and is open for pedestrians only. Dr Pepper Museum, McLennan County Courthouse, ALICO, which happens to be the tallest tower of the Southwest are some of the notable locations of Waco. Historic Waco Foundation, Praetorian Building and The Helen Marie Taylor Museum are also among the famous Waco tourist spots.
