Valdosta is the beautiful city, situated in Georgia. It is also the capitol city of the Valdosta Metropolitan Statistical Area. The state of Georgia is the state of Scarlet O'Hara, the famous character of Margaret Michelle's most loved novel ?Gone with the Wind'. The Valdosta winters are virtually snowless, with April and March as the sunniest months. The Interstate 75 provides the major transportation route. The city is bisected by both US Highway 41 and US Highway 84. There is also the Valdosta Regional Airport in the city as well as a Greyhound bus station. Travelling around in the city is no problem as the city has abundant means of transportations such rented cars, buses, train etc.
Valdosta was incorporated in 1860. It was named after the Governor George Troup's state ?Val d'Osta'.
