        Tinley Park
        Primarily situated in Cook County, IL, United States with a small but significant portion in Will Country, the village named as Tinley Park is fastest growing area in outskirts of Chicago. 2007 census say that there are 58,222 inhabitants permanently residing in the village.

        History
        Area of Tinley Park was first settled along with the foundation of Chicago in around 1830. First permanent group of residents were few Germans who flew in and rested at a place then called Bremen that is now called Tinley Park. Latter on, in the late 19th century when railroad were being networked throughout the nation, Bremen became on the route of Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad line.

        The influence of the railroad on Bremen was so huge that soon in 1890, its name was changed to Tinley Park in honor of the village's first railroad station agent, Samuel Tinley, Sr. Even the village's official incorporation took place at the train depot on June 27th, 1892. Emergence of railroad resulted into development, heavy industry and commerce coming into the village.

        After its centennial, Tinley Park from the late 20th century to the present has been focused on renovation of its downtown historic district. The historic district is made up of the village's original 1892 boundaries. In this district, landowners are encouraged to maintain the historic edifices.

        Real Estate
        Tinley Park enjoys various variations when it comes to real estate market; offering affordability, luxury and comfort. Single-family homes normally range in price from the low-$200,000s to more than $1.5 million for large estate properties on wooded lots. Subdivisions such as Parkside and Brookside Glen offer a wide variety of home styles, which meet almost every esthetic taste.

        There are Homes available too with golf course frontage or views at one of the citys three golf courses. Condominiums and townhouses in Brementowne Estates and West Point Meadows are priced from $100,000 to more than $325,000. Some land and lots can be found for custom building.

        Tinley Park has turned out to be a prosperous community since its emergence, enjoying very high and consistent growth in its local economy, while at the same time preserving its historic values.

        Tinley Park, due to its geographic and strategic importance, has always fetched innovative businesses to the region, strengthening the already successful economy. The area has also expanded its residential development sites and its cultural offerings.

A recent construction plan for downtown redevelopment has been proposed, which is going to be rolled out soon that is likely to attract new residents, businesses and visitors to the area.

        Transportation
        Tinley Parks accessible location is ideal for both people and businesses through center of Chicagos south side. There are number of major U.S. interstate highways that near and intersect the Tinley Park, including I-80 and I-57. I-55, I-90 and I-94 are accessible through I-80, and nearby I-65 in Indiana provide a way to the southern states. In addition, U.S. 45, U.S. 6, U.S. 30 and Illinois 43 connect Tinley Park with other cities in the area.

        Air transportation is available through several nearby airports. Midway International Airport is approximately 30 minutes north, OHare International Airport sits around 45 minutes northwest and the Gary/Chicago International Airport is located at 30 minutes east of Tinley Park.

        Two Metra train stations, the recently renovated Oak Park Avenue Station and the 80th Avenue Station, are also available to commuters traveling to and from downtown Chicago, to Joliet and to all stops in between.

        Shopping and Dinning
        The Village of Tinley Park offers its residents and visitors a wide array of shopping choices that cater to everyones need. Shopping stores range from locally owned shops and boutiques to large nationally-known malls.

        Park Place, Brookside Marketplace, Tinley Park Plaza, Oak Park Avenue area and Brementowne, which features everything from clothing and jewelry shops to service-oriented businesses.

        Perhaps the most exciting part of Tinley Park is its downtown area. Oak Park Avenue, considered the heart of the Village, affords residents and visitors a full range of retail stores, quaint shops and delectable restaurants.

        Education in Tinley Park
        Tinley Park residents are entertained with the benefits of quality educational opportunities in and surrounding the community. Village offers excellent public school systems, vocational and technical training, an array of outstanding parochial and private education facilities, several top-rate community colleges and access to prestigious four-year colleges and universities.

        Two elementary-level school districts provide exceptional education to Tinley Park residents. Though Tinley Park students are mostly served by Victor Andrew High School in Consolidated School District 230, a number of other high schools in and around the area cater to the communitys educational needs.

        Private and parochial high school education is also available through a variety of schools, all located within 30 minutes of Tinley Park.

        Several higher education facilities are accessible in and around the area, from two-year community colleges to four-year colleges and universities.
