The region takes you to an ideal world featuring numerous breathtaking lakes and waterfalls.
Mumford is a settlement in the town of Wheatland southwest of Rochester and is home to the Genesee Country Village and Museum. The hamlet is a combination of a model village, where works of local architecture are preserved; sporting art and carriage museums; a nature center; and model gardens.
Festivals
Since Rochester is a happening town, a large number of festivals, events and celebrations are held throughout the year. People living in the city have big hearts to accept out-of-towners and welcome them to be a part of their festivals.
In Rochester, many of festivals occur in late spring and throughout the summer. The Lilac Festival lasts for ten days every May, when nearly 400 varieties of lilacs bloom and 100,000 visitors arrive.
Other festivals include the Rochester International Jazz Festival, the Corn Hill Festival - known for featuring arts, crafts, and food in this Third Ward neighborhood, the Rochester-High Falls International Film Festival , Clothesline Art Festival where artists from the region display their works on the grounds of the Memorial Art Gallery, Park Avenue Merchants Festival, Lilac Festival, St. Patrick"s Day parade - March and many. During the summer, and especially in the first week of July, the downtown region after dark is lit with marvelous fireworks and a laser show at the High Falls venue.
