Omaha is home to many theater venues, theater groups and theater productions in addition to numerous community playhouses. The only resident professional ballet company lies in Nebraska is the Omaha Theater Ballet. Omaha receives Nebraskas important and a diverse influence on its music scene. The city has long been echoing with jazz, blues, funk and rock. Omaha being the home of a booming African American music scene has contributed significantly to the music industry.
