The city is ranked as the third largest French river port in France after two cities. Lille has its own football club which earns a good place in the French football league. It has as much as eight major national trophies being continuously featured in the UEFA Champions League. Lille has been hosting the Lille Comics Festival since 2006. The architecture of the city has very unique attributes characterized by Flemish effects. This also includes the use of red and brown bricks.
