Located at the meeting point of Farm Roads 407 and 156, Justin is a city found in Denton County, in the state of Texas, USA. The town can be found only five miles north of State Highway 114 and the Texas Motor Speedway. Its elevation is 643 feet, and for an approximate population of 2000 inhabitants, the city has about 700 housing units. The total land area comprised by Justin is 6.1 sq. km. and none of it is covered with water. The city falls within the Northwest Independent School District. The mailing address of the Texas Motor Speedway was the same as Justin's, but as of 9th July, 2005, its mailing address got changed to Fort Worth, Texas as it is actually located in the city of Fort Worth.

The area now known as Justin was initially settled by a French colonists group, who instituted the Icarian Colony there in 1848. The area, however, got deserted in the following year, and until the earlier half of the 1800s, it remained sparsely colonized. Justin instigated in 1883 when the selling of the town lots began, which were owned by Chet Helm and Riley. During that same year, a general store opened in the vicinity and turned the community into a center for farmers. Four years later, the rail line of Santa Fe extended from Fort Worth to Purcell, Oklahoma, as tracks were laid near the growing community. By 1886, the town had a population of 100, and along with a general store, a grocery, a hotel and a cotton gin had also been established. In the following year, Justin also opened its first post office, naming it Justin, in the honor of Justin Sherman who was a chief engineer of the Santa Fe rail line. The town transformed into a shipping point for agricultural products with the addition of frozen food lockers, grain elevators, and paved roads. The population of Justin also increased and by 1947, it incorporated as a city.

The City of Justin has many attractions for both visitors and residents alike, as it is situated in the culturally rich Denton County. You will find many historically significant sites in the area, along with museums like Bayless Selby House Museum, National Scouting Museum and Denton County Historical Museum in the neighborhood of Justin.
