Hoffman Estates

Hoffman Estates is a village in Chicago, Illinois that was recognized in the late 1950s. The year 2000 survey revealed the population estimate as close to 50,000. The present status of the village is that of headquarters for a financial corporation. Special events are also held here at a formal arena and it is home to the team Chicago Storm of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Heartland International Tattoo, a music and dance festival is held here in Midwest. Hoffman Estates has become a major subdivision with a home corporation developing houses on lands nearby. The Chicago commuters were drawn to the village when a Tollway was inaugurated in 1958. This contributed to the first land being annexed to the village three years later on.

In the early 1970's, Woodfield Mall opened in Hoffman Estates, which imparted major economic activity to the place. The population of the city has been steadily rising. The Prairie Stone Business Park opened in the 1990s enhancing entertainment activity in the village. A health center was also developed here. Future promises further activity in the form of setting up of office buildings, business centers and restaurants.
