The famous Fort Washington, Maryland resides in the Prince George's country. It is a small town with a major African American heritage. Located on the southern part of the state of Maryland, the Fort Washington boasts of a rich culture and history. Interestingly enough, the Fort Washington was built in 1809 to guard the capital but was destroyed by its own garrison in 1814.
