The city Englewood NJ is centered in New Jersey State. The name of the city has been kept since Englewood NJ was the first main English-speaking region in the state in 1664 on the side of Hudson River. Before 1980, Englewood NJ was structured as a Mayor-Council government but then it was converted into a Council-Manager scheme of government in line with the New Jersey Legislature. This enables the mayor to still have veto powers, and the council remains a legislative body that can form policies. The City Manager takes up the administration of the area. A mayor in Englewood NJ serves a three-year term of office and has substantial authority to appoint members to the government departments. Quite a few private schools are providing education to the children in Englewood NJ. Some of these are Dwight-Englewood School which caters to students till twelfth grade. Then Elisabeth Morrow School caters to children till eighth grade. Then Moriah School is solely a Jewish school, again till eighth grade. An institute Yeshiva Ohr Simcha provides a yeshiva program.

The transport system in Englewood NJ facilitates the commuters with lots of convenience. The native people here were mostly Lenni-Lenape Native Americans before the advent of Europeans. It was year 1664 when New Netherland was handed over to England and people started settling in Englewood NJ in great numbers.
