Deggendorf is a famous town located in Bavaria, which is also the capital of the present Deggendorf. Some 8,000 years ago, few traces of settlement were found in the nearby area Danube. The area of Deggendorf was used to camp Jewish refugees who survived after the deadly World War II. The number of these refugees was estimated to be around 2,000. These refugees settled here and gave rise to a unique cultural center. The newspaper was setup and few theatres were started. This camp of refugees started printing their own currency. It was later found that many of the residents of Deggendorf were refugees who had managed to run away from the camp at Theresienstadt.
