Set in the county seat of Pottawattamie County, Iowa, United States, Council Bluffs is on the east bank of the Missouri River. The population was marked as 58,268 in the 2000 census.
Abraham Lincoln settled here in 1859, but the city was worth visiting and living, much before that. It is decades older than the city of Omaha, Nebraska whose foundation was laid down by Council Bluffs businessmen and speculators in the year 1854.
