Before the Revolution, some saw mills and grist mills were also established at this place. At that time, this used to be a small village lies with some parts in Halfmoon. Finally on March 3, 1828, Clifton Park was formed from Halfmoon and was named Clifton derived from an early land patent. The first town meeting was held in the same year and on March 31, 1829; it was renamed to Clifton Park.
