Chaska is a city in Carver County, and located in the Minnesota River Valley in the United States. As of 2000 census estimates, the city had a population of 17,449. The region"s name, Chaska, is derived from a Dakota word that refers to the first born male child.
The history of this beautiful area reflects a strong influence of the Native American culture, while the first inhabitants are believed to be the Mound Builders. History Records show that the "Shaska townsite" was sold to David L. Fuller in 1852.
In 1857, an abundance of high quality clay led to the setting up of brick making industry. As a result of the clay resources, Chaska became a thriving brick manufacturing center by 1880s.
In 1871, Chaska was incorporated as a village and was declared as a city 1891. At the turn of the twentieth century, came other industries. Most significant of them were the processing of beet sugar and other agricultural products such as flour making, butter making, the canning of corn, peas, ad tomatoes, and the curing of pickles.
However, today Chaska"s economy is diversified into education, tourism, trade, manufacturing, and business industry. In a national poll in 2007, Chaska was ranked the eighth best city in the nation.

A small and demanding executive golf course, Chaska Par 30 is designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The tree-lined fairways of Chaska Par 30 are wide, while the greens are average-sized.
This is an excellent course for both beginning golfers or for experienced ones. As of dinning, no matter what your taste is, Chaska has something sure to satisfy you.
