Getting to Brussels
The main airport is Brussels International Airport which is served by a number of top airlines including Brussels Airlines from all the major destinations around the world. To the south of Brussels is Charleroi airport and is one hour away from the city center centre by bus or train.

Antwerp airport is well connection to Brussels city by train or coach. The high speed clean and comfortable train, Euro Star, also serves Brussels connecting it with Paris and London.

From the airport, visitors can take the train shuttle service to the South, North, and Central stations of Brussels. It runs between 5.30am to 12.20am. Then there are also buses which can be found at the station below the Arrivals hall. These serve Brussels, Antwerp and Eindhoven.

Major car hire companies of the city provide transport facilities as well. Once in the city, visitors won"t have any problem travelling as the public transport system of Brussels is quite up to date and well-organized. It includes a large network of metro, trams and buses.

Brussels Activities
Due to the many influences, Brussels city has a fascinating mix of art, music, food and architecture. This provides visitors with amazing sights and experiences. Radiating history, the old city with the beautiful Grand Place at its center is one of the sites which offer a unique experience.

Enclosed within the 14th-century city walls, this is one of the most beautiful squares I Europe. Just a few blocks away is another popular site with a famous character, the Manneken-Pis. It is a fountain with a bronze statue of a small happy naked boy. According to some stories, it dates back to 8th century.

The area also has a shopping area called rue Neuve which is a pedestrian only area. From traditional souvenirs like Belgian chocolate and lace to the latest fashions, it has something for everyone. After touring these sites and shopping, a nice way to end the day would be to go to any of the restaurants for fine dining and a drink or two after words in any one of the bars near the Grand Place.

Other options can be to continue the evening by attending a nice concert in one of the many jazz clubs, or going to the National Orchestra and the National Opera House - internationally acclaimed venues. There are also 30 other independent theatres and venues which host a variety of events.

For those looking for some upbeat entertainment, trendy upper town clubs and bars are great options. You can dance the night away at these clubs as some of the popular and well known DJs as well as music bands frequent these venues. These are also great places to meet new people and get to know the fun and friendly locals.

The Upper Town area is also known for the neo-Gothic Palais de Justice and Palais Royal and features the city"s modern side with grand shopping malls, glass and steel buildings, sky-scrappers, and high culture nouvelle cuisine.
