Boca Raton
Known for its affluent social community and high income demographic, Boca Raton is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida.

The Citys history dates back to eighteenth century, when it appeared on maps associated with an inlet in the Biscayne Bay area of Miami. As of the US census 2006 estimates, its population was 86,396.
By the early 1900s, Boca Raton was a tiny agricultural community, and in May of 1925, it was incorporated at the height of the Florida land boom. It was the time when the town council commissioned noted society architect Addison Mizner to plan a world-class resort community.
Addison Mizners exclusive hotel, known as the Cloister Inn, was completed in 1926. It continues its reign as a city landmark as the Boca Raton Resort and Club. The year 1962 saw Boca Raton attracting the newest state university, Florida Atlantic, to the site of the old army airbase.
Later in 1967, IBM moved one of its computer facilities to the region, and in 1981, it was there the first IBM PC, or personal computer, was developed. The latter decades of the twentieth century saw the city focusing much of its attention on downtown redevelopment.
Also around this time, a number of important historical properties, such as Boca Ratons original Town Hall and F.E.C. Railway Station were restored and opened to the public.
Downtown Boca Raton continues to thrive with the improvements to Palmetto Park Road. Once a vehicular thoroughfare; the Palmetto park road has now been transformed into a unique, pedestrian-friendly promenade.
