Balingen
Balingen is a name of a German town situated in the area of Baden-Wurttemberg, which is a capital of the district of Zollernalbkreis.

The town serves as an ideal location, being in the region with surrounded towns like Swabian Alb, Turbine, Villingen-Schwennigen and southwest of Stuttgart.

The town is also known for the home ground of great companies like Bizerba and Ideal companies. The documented history of the town of Balingen goes back to the year of 863 A.D.

In fact it was under the possession of the lords of Haigerloch, but later in the year of 1162 it was acquired by the count of Hohenberg. Balingen had received the title of city from Friedrich der Erlauchte in the 13th century.

The city had seen a great destruction by a fire in the year of 1809. The whole town was burnt down with the survival of only few buildings like the Protestant church, few castles and some other ones.

The Protestant church's is considered to be one of the special features of the town even today, especially due to the characteristic sundial in the apse.

The rebuilding of the town had been taken place on the left bank of the river Eyach. The castle was demolished 1935, and now only a tower can be seen Balingen had become a part of the unified Germany in the year of 1870.

The city of Balingen had served as a sub-camp of Flossenburg concentration camp during the World War II.

At present the city offers a great sightseeing to the tourists, with old remnants of the great building along with the modern day luxuries and facilities.
