Anaheim is one of the major cities of the Orange County in California. The city is high density of population of almost 346,823 people. The census of 2008 has made it 10th most-populated city in California and at the 54th position in the entire United States.

The city is seeing a great expansion, due to the fast paced development in its Platinum Triangle area as well as in the area of Anaheim Hills. The city is famous for its theme parks, sports teams, and convention center, in all over America.

The name of the town had been generated from two different sources, the word Ana due to a nearby Santa Ana River, and heim, is a German word meaning home.

The history of the city dates back to the year of 1857, when it was founded by a group of fifty German families, mostly comprised of grape farmers and wine makers from Franconia in Bavaria. The town was later incorporated on February 10, 1870.

Anaheim has seen a great progress, especially in the industrial sector; it is producing electronics, aircraft parts, and canned fruit, for local and international use. The wonderland of the world, named Disneyland, is also being founded at the same place.

If anyone is in a mood of forgetting all the worries and problems of life and wants to find a perfect place for merrymaking and living on the edge, then it is the right place to visit. Disneyland is a world-famous group of theme parks and hotels which was opened in the year of 1955.

There are other great places like Angel Stadium, Honda Center, and Anaheim Convention Center, which is the largest convention center on the American west coast.

Anaheim's city has the geographical boundaries exceeding to the city of Cypress in the west to the Riverside County line in the east. Anaheim Hills is a famous and dream destination for residence of the many of the noted sports stars and executives located in the city's eastern stretches, it is a highly wealthy master-planned community.

The Anaheim Resort, which is a commercial district, includes the Disneyland and the neighboring hotel and retail complexes. The Platinum Triangle, is a specially developed surrounding area of Angel Stadium, it is planned to be comprised of mixed-use streets and high-rises.

The Disneyland resort had seen a great expansion plan in 1990s, the city authorities also planned to increase the tourist attraction, by developing other recreational centers.

There is the Disneyland Resort, the Honda Center--home of the NHL Anaheim Ducks, the Anaheim Convention Center, and Angel Stadium and other places.

The city has drastically changed its face, in order to beautify itself for the increase in the revenue by the greater number of tourist visits every year. The city had a great festivity and celebration at the 150th anniversary of its foundation.

The celebration was started by opening the Anaheim Walk of Fame near the Harbor Boulevard entrance to the Disneyland Resort. The first star on the Anaheim Walk of Fame was most obviously, the Walt Disney, the man who had made Anaheim, really proud and popular tourist destination of the modern times.
