About the Show
The Phantom of the Opera musical was a brain child of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, who had wanted to compose a love story ever since the beginning of his career. He was inspired by French writer Gaston Leroux' novel, Le Fantôme de l'Opéra, and enlisted the help of Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe to write the lyrics. The musical's book was written by Sir Andrew Webber and Ricarhd Stilgoe. The musical's story revolves around the beautiful Christine Daae, a soprano at the Opera, who becomes the obsession of a mysterious musical genius.
