The musical had its world premiere in Minneapolis in 1997 which was soon followed by a Broadway debut later in the year. Simba's and his destiny
The musical follows the young cub prince Simba from his birth to his carefree adolescence years onto the time when he becomes the king of Pride Rock. By the malicious trick of his uncle Scar, Simba loses his father early on in an accident that is made to seem like his fault. Engulfed with fear and shame, he flees his home to live in exile. He is encourage by his new friends Timon and Pumbaa, his mentor Rafiki and his love interest Nala to return. What ensues is a personal battle that gives Simba the courage to reclaim his throne.
