Syracuse Chiefs Tickets

The Syracuse Chiefs is an American minor league baseball team, a Triple-A team since 1961. It is a member of the North Division of the International League, having been a member of the Eastern League from 1956 until 1957. It is presently affiliated with the major league baseball franchise, the Washington Nationals.

Over the course of its history the team has been affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays, the New York Yankees, the Detroit Tigers, the New York Mets, the Washington Senators, the Minnesota Twins, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Cincinnati Reds, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals. Affiliation with some of the greatest teams in the MLB makes this a team many often buy Syracuse Chiefs tickets for.

The Syracuse Chiefs home ballpark is the NBT Bank Stadium, to which it moved in 1997. It previously played at the MacArthur Stadium until 1996. It has won a huge number of League titles, eight in total, as well as one Division title. This eight time League champion is owned by Anthony Simone with Tony Beasley as the manager and John Simone as the general manager. Based in Syracuse, New York, their stadium is situated north of the Syracuse downtown area.

The Syracuse Chiefs, though founded in 1934 trace its history back to the earliest days of pro baseball in Syracuse. In 1877 the Syracuse Stars was formed and the team began to play in the minor league of that time known as the League Alliance. The franchise also competed, under the same name, in the National League in 1879 and the American Association in 1890. It also played in the Eastern League, today known as the International League, and the New York State League. From 1918 to 1927 the team played in the International League and became one of the earliest St. Louis Cardinals farm teams.

In 1934 the Syracuse Chiefs was founded when the Jersey City Skeeters of the International League moved to the city. The franchise played and won five championships, moving to Miami as the Miami Marlins in 1956. In 1961,the present team was formed when the Royals moved to the city after the Los Angeles Dodgers left. It played as the Chiefs and then as the SkyChiefs from 1997 to 2006.

In 2010, the franchise celebrated its fiftieth season as a community owned baseball team, with radio announcers such as Sean McDonough brought in for the occasion. Since its founding, the team has seen a large number of fans attending its games with figures starting from over one hundred thousand during the sixties and gradually growing to over two hundred thousand and then swelling to three hundred thousand. For the past several years attendance has often passed the four hundred thousand. In 2010 alone, over four hundred thousand people saw matches live and sales of Syracuse Chiefs tickets touched the roof. Their upcoming games are going to witness same kind of enthusiasm by the crowd, so get your deals before we run out of these tickets.
