The Mayhem Festival celebrates heavy metal and hard rock music with live performances by an assortment of bands from all over America. Travelling through major cities in the summers every year, it brings a fantastic opportunity to metal fans to rock with their favorites. It all started when John Reese and Kevin Lyman came together and assembled the Mayhem Festival in 2008. Since its beginning the Rockstar Energy Company is a key sponsor hence the festival has come to be associated with its name. The various bands that perform each year are all masters in their sub genres of metal  for instance, deathcore, thrash metal, progressive metal, death metal, power metal, industrial metal and each brings a different flavor to the assembly. There is a three-stage setup every year with one being the main stage and the other two side stages. On the day of the event the bands arrange ‘meet and greet’ with fans so that they can interact with their idols.
