Jersey Boys is based on the 60s rock group the Four Seasons, which attained legendary status with 175 million worldwide sales.
 
Jersey Boys employs each of the four musicians (Frankie Valli, Bobby Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi) in separate sections retelling the band’s tale with individual personalized perspectives. These sections are named after the four seasons. Spring’s tale is told by Tommy DeVito. He recounts the band’s first incarnation “The Variety Band” that had the DeVitos and Massi. It deals with Frankie’s discovery and nurturing, and the mob bosses acquaintance, before winding into the Summer and so on.
 
Jersey Boys is a jukebox musical, employing the original songs of the group. Bob Gaudio provides the music. His co-writing and producing partner from the 60s, Bob Crewe, joins him as lyricist. Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice wrote the book for the musical, which premiered in San Diego’s La Jolla Playhouse in 2004.

Jersey Boys scooped up one Laurence Olivier, two Drama Desk, and four Tony Awards. It has seen a National Tour with productions in America, Canada, London, and Australia. The current tour yields the Jersey Boys Tulsa Oklahoma show from June 6^th.
