Musical theater lovers are in for a treat as the Jersey Boys Louisville production heads their way. The semi biographical jukebox musical won over many fans and critics when it first opened on Broadway in 2005. The words and music for the musical were provided by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio respectively, and the book was written by Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman. Jersey Boys was made to pay homage to the 1960’s band, “The Four Seasons”. When it opened on Broadway, it received four Tony Award, including the most important award of the show, “Best Musical”. Since then, it has opened in London’s West End, Canada and Australia.

The Jersey Boys Louisville show will follow the theatrical representation of the formations, claim to fame and the subsequent breakup of four people who made up “The Four Seasons”. The play itself is also divided into four “seasons”, each of which is dedicated to each member of the group.  Spring has been allotted to Tommy DeVito in Act 1, followed by Summer with Bob Gaudio. Act 2 in turn consists of Fall and Winter, given to Nick Massi and Frankie Valli respectively. The play displays how each member brought a different dimension and perspective both to the music and every situation they went through.
