Based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip by American cartoonist Harold Gray, Annie is about an eleven year old girl who lives in the Municipal Girls Orphanage that is run by the very wicked Miss Hannigan. The story follows Annie as she tries to find her parents and later gets adopted as part of a charity act by a moody billionaire Oliver Warbucks. The rich businessman is at first uncomfortable with the thought of an orphan in his home but as the story progresses he begins to form a fatherly bond with the child and helps Annie in her quest to find her parents.
