Dear Mr. Hunt,
We appreciate your attempt to educate your viewership about the often maligned industry of secondary event tickets. While this industry has been legitimized in the US in the past 5 years, we understand that in UK this market is still often viewed unfavorably. We regret this, since we have been in business since 2005 and have sold and delivered over 250,000 tickets to customers all over the world. This includes events such as Euro 2008, Beijing Olympics, Cricket World cup in addition to literally thousands of events throughout the world. In fact, at any given point in time, we display inventory worth $500 Million, of over 3,500 distinct events.
We take customer satisfaction very seriously. Towards that end, we are licensees of BBB(Better Business Bureau), as well as TRUSTe(which governs our rights to reuse customer information). Furthermore to provide our customers a HackerSafe experience, we are members of McAfee SECURE
As regards to the questions mentioned in your letter:
- Can you confirm that you are not authorised to sell the tickets
referred to above?
Tickets on our site are listed by over 1000 suppliers as explained by our tickets buying process .
We respect venues rights and we always remove tickets to an event whenever the venues request it. In this case, we have not sold any tickets to Kaiser Chiefs.
- Do you agree with the allegation that customers of your site, purchasing these tickets, have no guarantee of receiving them?
TicketLuck has a written guarantee on the web site and if tickets
cannot be delivered, the customer will receive a prompt refund. We categorically stand behind our policies, and have a 100% record of delivering tickets or refunding the purchase price promptly. TicketLuck ticket policies are always viewable on our site.
We sincerely appreciate your interest, and we feel that a lot of people stand to benefit from your very pertinent questions. Towards that end, we have created a BBC Watchdog page, where we have published your letter, our response as well as some FAQs and a video animation about the tickets buying process. This should serve as a resource for all viewers who want a high level understanding of the industry as well as how to evaluate the legitimacy of the site.
Best Regards,
Carlos Cashman
